What Can You Cook on a Traeger Grill?

Last updated: July 8, 2019 by Judith Fertig

No amount of frying or conventional cooking can provide you the juicy taste and the satiating sensation of a grilled meal. But do you think your old and worn out grill can compete with the new Traeger Grill? Think again. This remarkable product provides you the smokiest and juiciest meals.

Check out some of the most mouth-watering recipes you can cook on a Traeger grill.

1. The good ol’ smoked salmon

There is nothing that can match the temptation of a tender salmon grilled till had an excellent smoky flavor. The recipe for the salmon is simple. Just place your Trager grill on smoke for 4 to 5 minutes and keep the lid open. Then close the lid, set the temperature to 375 degrees and let it preheat for at least 15 minutes.

Take a whole salmon (or fillets if you like) and dip them in a mixture of olive oil, dill, lemon juice, parsley, and garlic. Now place it directly on the grill and let it cook. Once the meat starts to get flaky, take it off the grill and serve with some tantalizing dips or cauliflower pickle salad.

2. Pork tenderloin smoked and served with a veggie casserole

Prepare a marinade with honey, black pepper, thyme, brown sugar and apple juice. Add a few spices of your choice to personalize the recipe. Add the tenderloins to the marinade and let it sit for at least 2 hours. Keep the tenderloin in the refrigerator and allow it absorb all the marinade slowly.

When your friends and family arrive, smoke the grill with the lid open for 5 minutes. Now close the lid and then preheat to 225 degrees for at least 10 minutes. Now place the tenderloins on the grill and let them cook slowly for the next 2 to 3 hours. When fully done, take big slices of the tenderloin and serve with a vegetable casserole. For kids, you can cut smaller pieces. Then butter a small bun, apply some mayonnaise, add the tenderloin piece with fresh veggies and pickles and serve as a burger. If the adults are craving the carbs, pass them one as well.

3. Perfectly smoked marinade brisket

It is very easy to make the brisket wrong. This is why most people go to restaurants to eat this fantastic dish. Don’t worry. You can cook it at home as well. Forget about the last time you used a propane grill and made a flaky, overcooked brisket. This is the recipe and the right equipment you will need.

Start by preparing the perfect marinade for the brisket. Take a few garlic cloves and add one teaspoon olive oil to them. Make sure you don’t peel the cloves. Just expose their tops by cutting slightly at one end. Now, start your grill and let it smoke for 5 minutes with an open lid. Place the garlic mix on the grill and cook until the cloves are soft. It will take about 30 to 45 minutes for the cloves to soften. Remove from the grill and let cool.

Squeeze the garlic out of the bubs and add 1 cup spicy brown mustard, 2 cups red wine, ½ cup olive oil, ½ cup agave nectar and the brisket rub of your choice. Mix all ingredients properly till you get a smooth consistency. Place the marinade in a large plastic bad, add your brisket and then toss it a little. Let it sit for at least 2 hours, so all flavors are absorbed. You should turn the brisket on the other side after 1 hour.

That’s it. Your brisket is now prepared for a smoke session. Preheat the grill and add the brisket after 10 to 15 minutes directly on the grill. Once done, keep cooking for the next 30 minutes. You will be refreshed with the juicy, tender and delicious results. Serve them with the sides of your choice.

Isn’t the Traeger grill amazing? It doesn’t only provide a better pellet cooking experience but also ensures that a wonderfully refreshing smoky taste prevails in all your meals. Don’t wait anymore.
